CONFIRMATION CAMP
Luther Springs, Hawthorne
Developed alongside the regular summer camp schedule (with plenty of time for all that Luther Springs has to offer - crafts, swimming, canoeing, challenge course, all-camp activities, great food, night hikes, and more), Confirmation Camp also offers time to assist the participating congregations with confirmation education. Bring your whole class to Luther Springs for the week! The small group times will be co-led by an adult from your church and a Luther Springs staff member. A full week of lively nocturnal adventures await campers attending Night Gators! We all know how alligators love to sleep in, so this camp is designed for campers who also like to sleep in. Camp activities begin later in the morning than our normal weeks and campers stay up later. Activities normally done in the daylight hours can now be done later in the day. LEADERSHIP Lab - NEW FORMAT for 2011!

Formally known as Leadership Training Camp, Leadership Lab takes senior high youth on a faith journey with purpose. Leadership Lab participants enjoy the exciting flavor of being at Luther Springs (canoeing, swimming, hiking, crafts, archery, great food, campfires, etc), but have their own breakout times for specific Lab experiences. First year is Basic Lab, where campers are introduced to a variety of basic valuable leadership skills that can be used in your youth group, as well as in school or work settings. Advanced Lab takes what campers have learned in Basic Lab a step further and incorporates the importance of developing their own faith journey.
Basic Lab: Campers are introduced to basic youth ministry skills that can be used in your youth groups, as well as in school or work settings. These skills include: planning, communication, Bible study leadership, group building, and conflict management. The week's focus includes small group experiences in developing these skills, as well as the beginnings of creating programs that can be incorporated as part of youth ministries in your own congregation. There's also plenty of time available to enjoy all that Luther Springs has to offer.
Advanced Lab: Must have attended Leadership Training Camp or Basic Leadership Lab at Luther Springs within the last 3 years. In addition to reviewing the skills learned at Basic Lab, campers attending Advanced Lab will build on that information in developing actual youth ministry programs that can be used in their own congregational or conference setting. Advanced Lab also stresses the importance of faith development of the individual youth and how that affects the faith development of the congregation’s youth ministry program. Additionally, those attending Advanced Lab can sign up for Staff In Training, which will allow them, with parents' prior written approval, and commitment to serve at a day camp later in the summer, the opportunity to spend the weekend on the camp site, seeing what the counselors do to clean up and prepare for the next week's camp.

Staff in Training (SIT)
Luther Springs, Hawthorne
Ages 16-18
Are you interested in working at camp? Do you enjoy working with children and helping shape their personal and spiritual lives? Do you have a sense of adventure and love the outdoors? Check out the SIT program at Luther Springs this summer! Attend the Leadership Lab (either Basic or Advanced), and then stay a few extra days to shadow our staff and take your leadership learning to a new level. Following the SIT program, you have the option, with your parents consent, to return for another week as a volunteer to work side by side with our summer support staff or counselors. You may volunteer at either Luther Springs or on the road with one of our day camp teams. Those who attend Leadership Training, SIT, and return to volunteer will receive a $50.00 rebate after serving the volunteer week. Servant weeks
(Completed Grades 9-12)
Servant Weeks offer high school youth a chance to make a difference in Miami, St Augustine, and Orlando this summer. Housing will be through a local Lutheran congregation at each site. Service opportunities may include helping at the local food pantry, animal rescue center, nursing home, or caring for the needy in the area. Each week includes worship and intentional times for faith development, shared responsibilities of being together for the week with other youth and adults, and will also include a chance to experience the local culture and tourist areas. Day camps
This exciting camp opportunity brings our fantastic summer camp staff to your congregation for the week. Day Camps take place all across the state from mid-June to mid-August. Our staff provides the program leadership and a wealth of creative ideas to create an incredible camp experience Monday-Friday.
